Armstrong Ceiling tiles have provided a means to recycle old ceiling tile materials since 1999. The has helped to prevent over 18 million square metres of of ceiling tiles from going to landfill. If your old drop ceiling has any type of mineral ceiling tiles, or if we’re renovating your suspended ceiling, we can help in the recycling process.
From a typical 20 square metre drop ceiling replacement, almost one ton of raw materials are used. Over 203 gallons of water and nearly 50 kg of greenhouse gases are generated. The Armstrong World Industries recycling program now included include recycling for all mineral tiles with no minimum quantities. Even off-cuts are included within the scheme.
Old tiles received by Armstrong will be 100% recycled into new ceiling tiles. Ceiling tiles need to be any brand of pulpable wet-felt mineral fibre ceilings dated after January 2000 to be eligible. Armstrong will even collect free of charge in most instances and provide recyclable bags for the ceiling tiles.
You can ask us to complete a recycling assessment when we quote for a ceiling tile renovation project for you. Not only is it great for the environment, it can actually save you money because you’ll avoid the costs of skips and transportation costs.
You can view the Armstrong end of life and off cut brochure here or give us a call and we’ll help you complete the process.
